I've always been particular about the products I use, especially when it comes to personal care. After spending nearly nine years creating handmade bath and body products through Salt & Shea, paying attention to ingredients and product quality has become second nature to me.

But my relationship with MONAT actually started long before I decided to partner with the brand.

How It Started

About six years ago, after having my daughter, I experienced significant postpartum hair loss. My hair became noticeably thinner, and I started paying closer attention to what I was using and how my hair looked and felt.

That's when I started using MONAT shampoo and conditioner.

Over time, I noticed a difference in how my hair looked and felt, and I continued using the products. Like many of you, I've experimented with other brands along the way. I've tried different products, switched things up, and eventually found myself coming back to MONAT.

Skincare has always been another area I'm especially drawn to. As an esthetician, I've always appreciated the balance between products that feel good to use and products that are thoughtfully formulated. I love a skincare routine that is gentle but effective, without feeling like you need an entire bathroom cabinet full of products to take care of your skin.

I've really been enjoying exploring the MONAT skincare line, and it's become one of my favorite parts of this partnership. I appreciate products that feel approachable, work well within a routine, and make taking care of your skin something you actually look forward to. Skincare was one of my first loves, so getting to explore and share this side of the brand has been especially fun for me.

Why Ingredients Matter to Me

My perspective on personal care has been shaped by my years making products for Salt & Shea. When you're the person choosing ingredients and formulating products yourself, you naturally become more intentional about what you bring into your own routine.

For my handmade Salt & Shea products, I have chosen to formulate without parabens and phthalates. I carry that same consideration into the products I purchase and use for myself and my family.

MONAT's ingredient standards and published product information are part of what I consider when choosing products. I also encourage everyone to read individual product labels and ingredient lists so they can make informed choices based on their own preferences.

I'm not interested in recommending something just because it's popular. I want to understand what I'm using, enjoy the experience, and feel comfortable sharing it with others.

That has always been important to me, whether I'm talking about something I've made myself or a product from another brand.

A New Chapter

When I decided to partner with MONAT, it wasn't because I wanted to change everything about what I share here.

Salt & Shea is still a huge part of who I am. I still love making things, growing things, sharing what I'm learning, and finding products that genuinely earn their place in our home.

But I'm also in a season of exploring new opportunities, finding ways to earn income while helping other Mamas and sharing things I already enjoy.

The MONAT partnership gives me a way to share the haircare and skincare products I've personally used while also exploring the business side of the brand. I'm curious about where that opportunity might lead, and I'm happy to share what I'm learning along the way.

You won't find me recommending every product under the sun just to make a sale. My goal is to keep sharing honestly, answer questions when I can, and let you decide what's right for you.
