I’ve always been drawn to making things, finding better ways to do everyday things, and creating a home that feels like us.
For nearly nine years, I built Salt & Shea around handmade bath and body products, thoughtful ingredients, and the belief that what we bring into our homes matters. I spent years formulating products, building relationships with customers, and turning something I loved making into a business. Although I eventually stepped away from running a full shop, that creative part of me never really went away.
These days, life looks a little different.
I'm a busy mom of two little ones, navigating family life while growing a garden, raising backyard chickens, making things from scratch, and finding ways to make our home work for our family. Some days that means harvesting something from the garden or pulling a batch of homemade products together. Other days, it means doing my best to keep everyone fed while the chickens do something ridiculous in the backyard.
It's real life, and that's what I love sharing.
Here you'll find my version of modern homesteading, from gardening and preserving what we grow to sourdough, handmade goods, low-tox living, and the products that genuinely earn a place in our home. I'm curious by nature, a maker at heart, and someone who likes to understand what I'm using, how it works, and whether it's actually worth it.
That same approach carries into the brands I share. I believe recommendations should mean something. I want to try the products, understand them, and feel good about putting my name behind them. My audience deserves honesty, not another recommendation just because someone offered to send me something.
Salt & Shea is still a big part of that story. It's where my love for making began, and it continues to shape how I approach the things I create, the products I choose, and the content I share.
I'm building this space to bring all of those pieces together: the handmade, the homegrown, the things I'm learning, and the things I truly love.
