DIY Nourishing Makeup Remover That Melts the Day Away
You know that moment at night when all you want is to wipe off the day and reset your face? But instead, you're rubbing at your mascara with a mystery makeup wipe and wondering if that sting is normal?
Yeah, no thank you.
That’s why I created this DIY nourishing makeup remover. It’s gentle, oil-based, and totally packed with ingredients that actually love your skin. No sketchy stuff, no burning eyes, no weird residue. Just clean, soft, happy skin.
This little blend is one of my favorites to make at home (and yep, I also make it for myself and friends). It's super easy, takes just minutes, and your skin will honestly feel like you just got a facial.
Nourishing Oil-Based Makeup Remover (100g Formula)
🌿 Ingredients (Measured in Grams)
-
30g Castor Oil
This is the secret sauce for deep cleansing. It helps pull out dirt and makeup while staying gentle on your skin. Great for all skin types, yes, even you, sensitive-skin folks! -
50g Apricot Kernel Oil
Light, nourishing, and non-comedogenic (aka it won’t clog your pores). It’s a skin-soothing favorite, especially for irritated or reactive skin. -
18g Jojoba Oil
Jojoba is actually a wax that closely mimics your skin’s natural oils. It helps balance sebum and keeps your skin feeling calm, not greasy. -
2g Vitamin E Oil (Tocopherol)
This little powerhouse extends the shelf life of your remover and gives your skin an antioxidant boost. Win-win!
How to Make It
Making this DIY nourishing makeup remover is easier than pie, and less sticky too 😉
- Weigh your oils: Grab a digital scale and measure out each oil precisely.
- Mix it up: Combine everything in a clean glass beaker or small mixing bowl.
- Stir to blend: Use a clean spoon or stir rod and mix gently until everything’s fully blended.
- Bottle it: Pour your mixture into a 100ml amber glass bottle (pump or dropper style, your choice).
- Label and store: Label it clearly (so you don’t forget what it is!) and stash it in a cool, dark spot. It’ll stay fresh for about 6 months.
How to Use Your Oil-Based Makeup Remover
This is my nightly ritual, and honestly, it’s a vibe.
- Pour a small amount into your hands.
- Rub your palms together and massage onto dry skin (yes, dry!).
- Let it melt off your makeup, sunscreen, and stress.
- Gently wipe away with a warm, damp cloth.
- Follow with your regular cleanser if you double cleanse (which I highly recommend).
🌿 This works especially well on waterproof mascara, and it won’t leave your eyes red or stingy. Promise.
A Quick Note on Bottles & Storage
Stick to amber glass if you can. It helps protect your oils from light so they stay fresher longer. You can reuse old dropper or pump bottles—just wash them well with hot soapy water, rinse with rubbing alcohol, and let dry fully.
